Service accessibility
Ensures consumers of the workload are able to access your services, either through the internet, private networking, or VPN.
Service accessibility
Internet facing applications and internal applications that scale to large amounts of traffic are common concerns for accessibility, but many systems break because of lack of the same concern for private networking and VPN between AWS and data centers or office locations.
Ensure service accessibility
- Identify the sources of traffic for your services: internet, private network, or VPN.
- Identify a highly available external DNS provider for internet services.
- Identify load balancers for internet or private network traffic within AWS and on-premises if needed.
- Identify a highly available internal DNS provider for private services.
- Identify redundancy of connectivity for private network traffic if outside of AWS.
- Identify redundancy of connectivity for a virtual private gateway on premises (a customer gateway) if needed.
- Identify redundancy of interconnect circuit (AWS Direct Connect (DX) or internet providers) between AWS and on-premises if needed.
- Identify bandwidth needs for private traffic.
- Identify bandwidth needs for interconnect circuit if needed.
- Identify latency requirements for interconnect circuit if needed.
